Daily Maintenance Tips for Wood Chip Bagging Machines

As an automated packaging device, the long-term stable operation and high efficiency of a wood chip bagging machine depend not only on its initial quality but also on meticulous daily maintenance. Establishing and implementing a scientific and effective daily maintenance procedure can significantly reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and ensure smooth production line operation.
Daily pre-shift and post-shift maintenance is fundamental. Operators should first clean the equipment during shift handover. Use an air gun or soft brush to carefully remove wood chip dust from precision components such as load cells, photoelectric switches, cylinder piston rods, and guide rods. Dust accumulation is a major cause of inaccurate weighing, signal misinterpretation, and movement jamming. Always turn off the power and use a low-pressure air source during cleaning to avoid damaging sensitive components. Next, perform routine checks: listen for any abnormal noises during equipment operation; check for loose fasteners (such as screws and nuts); check the oil level in the air source treatment unit (filter, pressure reducing valve, oil mist lubricator) and drain any accumulated water. After each shift, ensure the sawdust in the silo is emptied to prevent the material from absorbing moisture and caking.
Weekly or after a certain number of operating cycles, a more thorough inspection and maintenance are required. Lubrication is crucial. Following the equipment manual, apply appropriate lubricating oil or grease to all designated lubrication points (such as bearings, guide rails, and chains) to ensure smooth movement of parts and reduce wear. Simultaneously, check the condition of key wear parts: for example, whether the bag clamps are worn, whether the conveyor belt is misaligned or damaged, and whether the screw conveyor blades are excessively worn, affecting the feeding rate. The electrical components also require attention; check all wiring terminals for looseness and clean dust from the control cabinet.

In addition to regular maintenance, establishing a maintenance record system is extremely important. Record the time, content, any abnormalities found, and the handling measures for each maintenance. This not only creates a clear maintenance history but also helps predict the replacement cycle of parts (such as seals and filters), enabling preventative maintenance. When common problems such as unstable weighing or inaccurate bagging occur, maintenance records can help technicians quickly locate the problem. For example, unstable weighing may be due to dust affecting the sensor or mechanical contact; inaccurate bagging may be due to dirty photoelectric switches or misalignment of the robotic arm. Only through careful daily maintenance can the sawdust bagging machine become a reliable and hardworking partner on the production line.
